Show rate
Also called: attendance rate, no-show rate
Show rate is the percentage of booked appointments where the customer actually turns up or takes the call.
Show rate = attended appointments ÷ booked appointments × 100.
Assumptions and cited research behind this metric are listed on the methodology and sources page.
Why it matters
A booking that does not show costs you the slot twice: the empty chair and the lead you could have booked into it.
Worked example
A chiropractic clinic booking 100 new-patient appointments a month at a 68% show rate loses 32 slots. Confirmation sequences and easy rescheduling links recover a meaningful share of them.
