Measurement

Cost per booked job

Also called: cost per booking, CPBJ

Cost per booked job is the total spend on acquiring and handling leads divided by the number of jobs actually booked from them.

How it is measured

Cost per booked job = (ad spend + tooling + handling cost) ÷ booked jobs in the same period.

Assumptions and cited research behind this metric are listed on the methodology and sources page.

Why it matters

It is the metric that survives channel changes. Cost per lead flatters channels that produce unqualified enquiries; cost per booked job does not.

Worked example

Spending $1,200 on ads and $99 on tooling to book 12 jobs gives a cost per booked job of about $108 — directly comparable to your average gross profit per job.
