Conversion rate
Conversion rate is the percentage of people at one stage of your funnel who move to the next — visitors to enquiries, enquiries to bookings, bookings to paying customers.
Conversion rate = actions completed ÷ opportunities × 100, measured per funnel stage.
Assumptions and cited research behind this metric are listed on the methodology and sources page.
Why it matters
A single sitewide conversion number hides where the loss actually happens. Measuring per stage tells you whether to fix traffic, handling, or closing.
Worked example
A service page converting 4% of visitors into enquiries, with 40% of those booking, tells you exactly which of the two numbers is worth an hour of work this week.
