Measurement

Appointment show-up rate

Also called: show rate, no-show rate

Appointment show-up rate is the percentage of booked appointments where the customer actually attends.

How it is measured

Show-up rate = attended appointments ÷ booked appointments.

Assumptions and cited research behind this metric are listed on the methodology and sources page.

Why it matters

No-shows waste staff time. Reminders and easy rescheduling usually improve attendance.

Worked example

A gym books 50 tours; 30 attend, a 60% show-up rate. Reminder texts the day before and an hour before aim to lift it.
