Lead qualification
Also called: qualifying leads, lead scoring
Lead qualification is the process of asking a new enquiry a short set of questions — job type, location, timeline, and budget range — to decide whether it is worth a sales conversation and how urgently to route it.
Qualified rate = qualified leads ÷ total leads received.
Assumptions and cited research behind this metric are listed on the methodology and sources page.
Why it matters
Most small businesses treat every enquiry identically, so the owner spends the same effort on a tyre-kicker as on a same-week job. Qualification sorts the queue before anyone picks up the phone.
Worked example
A roofing company receives 60 form fills a month. An AI qualifier asks four questions by text within 60 seconds; 22 answer with a roof age, address, and timeline. The owner now calls 22 people instead of 60, and books the same number of jobs in a third of the time.
Figures are illustrative models with inputs stated, not audited client results.
